Get Event Tyres to do them at a place of your choosing - good prices and excellent fitters - the guys who've done my wheels take a lot of care over them - and they ask you to sign a form saying they've done no damage afterwards, too.
Tyre Costs
Does anyone know of a reasonable tyre fitting place in the Berkshire area where they ensure that they don't damage your alloys when changing the tyres. On my Last 5 series, Kwik Fit always seemed damaged my wheels getting the tyres on an off.
I have the 20 inch smoked volans on my car which are 285.20.30 profile rears and 255.20.35 profile on the fronts. The current tyres are the Dunlop Sport max.
Jaguar Slough quoted me £1,280 inc VAT for the four and Kwik Fit have quoted £1,080 inc VAT or the 4. Clearly I would like to pay £200 less but may need to spend the difference on getting the wheels refurbished afterwards!!!. So far my alloys are un-blemished!!!! With Jaguar doing the tyres I feel that there would be some come back if they were to damage the alloys in the process.
Incidentally do all Jag dealers charge the same price for tyres or would these vary?

I've also used Event Tyres and have been very happy with both price and service.
4 Jaguar J fitment Dunlop tyres for mine all 255/35/20 were £280 for all 4 inc vat and fitting and a wheel refurber next door to the tyre place £30 to refurb a 20" wheel inc vat,valve, rebalance

If saving over £700 the journey would be worth it.
Thanks guys. I have emailed Event Tyres to get a price and to see what tyres they have available. I like the idea that they get you to sign to confirm that they haven't damaged your wheels.

fgarrigan, ive been to the meet just gone. was a good night plenty of xj,xk,x types,s types,mark2,xk120. a load of friendly people. going to the next one as well. heworth golf club,gingling gate,heworth,gateshaead, ne10 8xy. just £12 a yr membership(october to october) ill be joining on the next meet with just the difference to october to pay. come along and see what you think. i met buckmr2 at washington services northbound to follow him through, easy to get to. looks like plenty of meets are arranged throughout the year as well as drive it days, hopefully see you there.

Yes, the ones I got early last year only had a 1000 miles on them though, made sure I got the best ones after routing about in their warehouse through all the 20" J fitment tyres, even bought a spare set and keep them in the garage...all Dunlop J fitment,saved an absolute arm and a leg!

I have never fitted a new tyre in 7 years of owning Jags including my 3.0 AWD X type I had until 2009 beofre my XJ....tell a lie on way to France 4 yrs ago was forced into getting a new tyre from KwikSh1t after getting damaged on a motorway and needing a new one asap..was gutted paid through the nose

If you are quick (by June 10th) you can get your application in for one of the bigger car shows at Raby Castle on June 24thWell I never knew about it. lol
