Warning Triangle/First Aid Kit

I've got an XF arriving next month to replace my 530D. I have at least one trip into Continental Europe each year and need to carry a triangle and FA Kit.

I see that for the F Pace these are both listed in the accessories list. For the XE the triangle is listed at £42 and for the F Type its shown as £24 but no FA kit option for either.

Neither item is listed as an accessory for the XF.

Is this just random listing of accessories or are either of these standard with the XF?

This is something British cars seem to lack in, by that I mean warning triangle and first aid kit.

I don’t know of any British Cars that supply them as OE.
I bought one kit online, for 20 quid. Ebay pr amazon, they sell thousands.
You also need a fire extinguisher, Hi Vis vests and a Breathalyzer kit too:-?

Roger
A fire extinguisher? The rest I'm aware of but not that.

But you are right. Other than France, which is where I normally go, most of the continent want a F Ex too. Must remember that; went through Germany, Austria and Belgium this year without one!
So, I won't get them with the car then? I think I'll keep the ones from the BMW!
Anybody seen where these items are designed (or not) to fit in the car?

I note the umbrella and warning triangle can attach to the boot underside but, not seen any location for first aid kit etc.
You can get this kit from Halfords for less than the price of a jag warning triangle

I can highly recommend these (if your not into the badge) as great value kits:

Bulb kits are circa £7 from almost anywhere (including super markets and you don't need a HID bulb), I recall needing breathalysers in France to?

Its just where to put them in the boot

When we bough our disco back in 2003 it came complete with a nice green zip up package containing a triangle, first aid kit and 2 x fluorescent jackets. Still have it and always take it with us.

Tony
Thanks guys.

The breathalyser for France isn't a necessity. Whilst legally it's required, there's no penalty for not having one so no one bothers. ( I think I do have some old, out of date ones anyway!)

I bet they don't come with them today.
I don't know about the rest of Europe but in France the Hi Viz vests and Warning triangle must not be in the boot so I have them stored
in the front seat rear pockets when I travel over there. Self explanatory I think.

I'm not saying you're wrong but I thought it was just the hi viz that have to be 'in reach' of passengers. I keep them in the rear centre armrest but the triangle stays in the boot lid.

The reason is that if you had a rear shunt, or a front shunt in a rear engined car, you would not have access to the triangle.

A fair point but I still can't find anything that says the triangle needs to be in the passenger compartment, though it's quite clear that the hi-viz must be.
I cannot recall either, but it was a few years ago so perhaps they have changed the rule. But to be on the safe side I always keep it in the cabin when abroad.:-?

Roger
For France.

Just 1 Hi Viz is mandatory and as stated is to be within reach of the driver. The passenger seat back pouch is perfect.
Warning triangle does not have to be within reach.
Breathalysers. No penalty, so don't bother.
Spare bulbs. Mandatory, which is a bit of a laugh bearing in mind that on some Renaults, you have to remove the front wheel & wheel arch liner to replace a front bulb.

If stopped by the Gendarmes, you will usually only be asked for your licence, insurance and MOT if required.

Enjoy the trip.
Having recently moved back from France I concur with the above.
and a Breathalyzer kit too:-?

Roger
Don't waste your money. Its supposedly a requirement, but they cant do anything if you don't have one. All fines/ punishment etc has been scrapped. All they can do is call you a naughty boy/ girl.
I have no intention of getting a breathalyser.
