Washer jets not working any pointers.

Hi;

My washer jets have stopped working even though there is water in the bottle. When i press the button the wipers move but no water. I can't even hear the pump motor working. I assume it must be the motor or fuse thats gone.
If it's the fuse does anyone know which one and were is it located? Does anything else run of the same fuse to test the fuse.
If its the pump is it an easy job that i could tackle myself and were is it located, any pointers

What i have also noticed is when there is no water in the water bottle the wipers don't start when pressing the washer jet button. Looks if a new pump is needed anyone else got any other idea's on refitting the pump.

I understand that on my X type the wipers are prevented from working in wash mode if the bottle is empty. I expect that the same feature is on S types.

The other thing that very occasionally happens on my X type is that the hose gets itself into a position such that a kink happens where it needs to bend when the bonnet is opened and closed (close to the bonnet hinge in my case) Have you checked to see if the washers work if the bonnet is left open?
Hi Happy Harry;

Tried the washers initially with the bonnet open and they didn't work, the car is booked in for a service with my local Indie and they will check them out then. The reason water was Pxxxing out when i tried to refit the pump is because the rubber grommit had dropped into the bottle. So now i am getting the low washer fluid amber light. The worst case the pump has burnt out but will keep the forum updated on the outcome of either gunge or new pump required.

I have a late 2015 XF 2.2d and the windscreen washers have stopped working. The switch appear to work since the headlight washers work when the headlights are on. The relay appears OK because replacing it doesn't solve the problem. The wipers work when the button is pressed, it is just the washer motor that doesn't work. The washer pump is OK because it works when power is supplied directly. Is it a burnt out wire or a computer module issue? Any ideas?
Try posting this in the XF (X250) or XF (X260) forums. This is the S-Type forum.

And take note of the water wicking issue which can cause major damage if left.
