Just removed my wheels to inspect the brake pads and thought I would clean the inside of the wheel rims while they're off the car.
There's very little brake dust but they seem to be coated with some sort of hard wax that is dirty. Any suggestions on how to remove this? I've tried the various cleaners that I have including white spirit but nothing has touched it.
Thanks Barry.

Try Sonax wheel cleaner or Bilt Hammer products.

I cleaned mine a couple of months back, but not aware of any 'waxy' covering. I used ValetPro Bilberry, then washed, polished with Collinite 915, and sealed with Poorboys. Very easy to clean off now.

Sonax FULL EFFECT wheel cleaner is totally non acidic and will remove baked on brake dust and more. It turns red as it works and you can see it in action, one of if not THE best on the market

You can get this at cleanyourcar.com amongst other places

Good luck
