Why did you have to remove screen and dash for a front corner repair? Was it a major bang? Has the car been welded or on a Jig? Which corner was it?

I would check connections at ECM (Under bonnet, drivers side bulk head) and follow that loom that goes down inner wing, round the front low down under car, and back up the other inner wing to a junction box. There are some pretty important wires in there including CAN circuit between ECM and Instrument Cluster I think. Look for damage especially where body shop may have been hammering or pulling.
I brought one of these 'JAGUAR X TYPE CD-Rom Workshop Manual (NOT JTIS) >2009' from eBay for 99p a few weeks ago, it has an electrical cartoon, it may help.

thanks for that will have a look

thanks for your help the bang was a bad one car as been on jig and welded but bang was on passenger side have checked all connection again for bent pins etc also checked wiring for damage can not find any thing i have power to most things just seems to be instrument cluster and ignition both totally dead also the problem with the reversing lights staying on permanently but go out when i unplug climate control module any suggestions will be very much appreciated thanks
When you say ignition totally dead do you mean ignition lights when turning the key? If your wipers are working then ignition switch must be good?

I had a look at wiring diagrams. Lets start with just the instrument cluster. It receives switched power like this

Battery -> Fuse39(under bonnet) -> Fuse31 (Pass Footwell) -> Ign Switch -> Fuse54 (Pass Footwell) -> Inst Cluster Pin 11 (don't know which of the 2 connectors)

Also receives non switched power like this

Battery -> Fuse39(under bonnet) -> Fuse46 (Pass Footwell) -> Inst Cluster Pin 7 (same connector)

You should check these power paths for continuity to help narrow down where the problem may be.

Hi thanks for getting back to me will check these out, instrument cluster all lights everything totally dead also ignition totally dead even when key turned to start position nothing at all again totally dead foot well lights come on sat nav system/touch screen powers up wipers turn,also there is the problem with reverse lights when i unplug climate control module they go out when plugged in they are on permanently ? thanks again.
Sorry there's a typo mistake in my previous message. The non switched power to the cluster is through Fuse 45 not 46. So it should be

Battery -> Fuse39(under bonnet) -> Fuse45 (Pass Footwell) -> Inst Cluster Pin 7 (same connector)

I've also sent you a PM.
Thanks very much for that.
