Hi all,
I was thinking about the air suspension on my XJ the other day and wondering about the feasibility of going down the coil-over route should the current air setup fail.
Given that most of the suspension componentry/subframes/strut location (I think) are shared with the S-type, would S-Type springs/shocks work on an XJ?
The XJ is the bigger car, but is a similar weight to the S-Type (1696kg for the S-type, around 1700kg for the X350 V6 petrol). If it worked, you could enjoy Jaguar tuned suspension at under £200 a corner for parts?
Would fitting s-type springs/shocks on an XJ work? Or am I missing something completely obvious which would prevent it working/make it an utter disaster?
Thoughts/criticism welcome!
As most threads are rubbish without pictures, here's mine:
