XF TD V6 3.0 (2013) - Satnav defaulting to Brussels

A weird problem has started recently where my satnav thinks I'm in the Grote Maarkt (Grand Place), Brussels. After 10 minutes or so it works out where it is, in the UK and is ok after that until next time. I noticed yesterday that it had lost all 'Previous' locations entered in destination entry too, as though it has gone through some sort of reset recently. There is no CD changer in the boot, It's one of the models where update is done via a memory stick that you have to buy, and I've never bothered with updating the maps as the 2013 one are 'good enough'.

I did wonder if it's something to do with the car needing a new battery as the Eco Mode has stopped working too, although the car always starts first time, touch wood. The only other thing I did think about is the GPS aerial but I have no idea really.

Have you checked that the satnav is set up for GB and not Belgium? Can be quite a job going through the settings. I think it is settings, more, then you get country options popping up. Scroll down if you need to change.

Thanks for that and sorry for the delay in replying. I changed the search area from BEL to GBR and switched off, but when I restarted the car, it had defaulted back to BEL. Actually there's another problem going on - first I noticed all my history had been lost, then I found that when you go into Dest Entry, the postcode option is greyed out, even with search country set to GBR. I can go to Enter Address, but it will only let me put the first part of the postcode, e.g. ME1 1 instead of ME1 1AA.

I finished up by resetting to defaults, then set my home location, made sure that everything had been saved, then switched everything off. I will have to see if it's defaulted back, or lost my home location when I start up again.
