Good afternoon all, i normally reside over in the X350 section where i have for 3 years loved and modified this

My reason to disturb your peace within, i have seen for sale an R100 XFr, 2011, 75k sale cheap with a cited chain issue but running and driving.

With it driving i am assuming its not got the jumped stage yet?
The bill for the full mashing chain and guides would be circa 3.5k?? Some chat with the owner of the 351 in the picture indicate this to be the invoice figure.

What did the R100 bring to the table over the standard car?

Has any body done this job there self?? im quite brave with the spanners.

Please comment, critique or add to any off the above.

Many thanks

F.C

Out of interest, my friend John is one of our Jaguar 'Master Techs'

He tends to buy Jaguars with mechanical issues that he can fix in his own time and then sell on, making a profit.

Messaged me today about the white XFR 100 that is the subject of this discussion, seller has offered it to him for £7,000.

John already has two XFR's at the moment that he is working on when time allows, so probably not in the market for another.

Information on the sellers 'best price' might be useful, if someone on here is interested in it.

Quite tempted myself at that price but if it needs anything more that the cam chains replacing, it stops being a bargain !
This is the car

I am a little bit dubious about why he doesnt as he says "Book it for the Chain" if this is all it needs,i managed to find another similar car with 6k less miles on auto trader at a trader asking 17k
And now your new best price information makes me even more suspicious,

Im tied atm as i need to sell another orphan just to keep my affairs in order.

why No V5?
Not sure but its no biggie if they can prove they own it
Up to £4.5k to do in a garage. Easier to drop engine out and do. Updated kit has a hardened insert on the guides to stop the tensioner wearing through.
Was speaking with The Jag Specialist in Doncaster and they feel it would be a good bit less.
