Rather than guesswork it would be better to get the car to a independent Jaguar specialist in your area.

Only 3 where I’m from…one is retiring, one has 2-3 mths waiting list and the third one doesn’t want to look at it—some specialist he is!!

Tried but no joy—car doesn’t even try to start! 2 issues appear after a diagnostic test.. 1, column lock and 2, authorisation start control unit!! Have the car booked into an auto electrical centre-hopefully they can find the issue(s)—-have a decent reputation! Fingers cross!!

Hi.
Just joined today and already need help or assistance!
Bought a 2007 XKR a few months ago. About 8hrs of having passed its MOT the car wouldn’t start. I was told it may be because of ‘column lock ground authorisation’ and/or ‘start control unit’! Presently I have the battery disconnect as car lights were staying on and flatting the battery…when trying to start no lights on dashboard were lightning up! I’m not very mechanic etc minded so any advice will be greatly appreciated!
Another issue I have does anyone know where this wire should go -see pics?! Thank you.
