Hi All, Thought I would let you know that I have just had an Adamesh exhaust fitted to my XK8. I can't believe how good it sounds. THIS should have been fitted by Jaguar from the off and more sales would have been had! It now sounds like a V8. I have played the "You Tube" video of the Adamesh system and yes it does sound good, but when up close and personal, it's even better!!! Get one now, I recommend it. So you need the pipe over the rear axle and the back pipe with either the single chrome end caps or for a few dollars more you can have a quad pipe end cap. I preferred the single one. Also, I obviously had to inform my insurance company and as it is due for renewal, I asked for a quote for the car as it stands and with the modified exhaust pipe. They asked whether performance would be effected and according to the Adamesh website, the indication was that it did improve slightly. I told them this. To my surprise there was a difference of £41.00 in my premium, CHEAPER WITH THE MODIFICATION!!! I couldn't believe it and had to double check with them. They confirmed it was cheaper than no modification, so I paid up there and then! Might be worth checking your insurance companies premium if you are contemplating this change. I'm going to enjoy my motoring this summer, especially with the top down!

Something I have been considering, I've looked at these and was debating whether to go for just the rear box's delete for a mild improvement, or the over axle sections as well. Did you fit yourself or get a garage?
Insurance costs were mentioned so I don't think I'm hijacking this thread, but, I have just renewed my insurance cover and my 3 penalty points had just expired. I called the insurance company to make sure the renewal quote allowed for the fact that the points were not in effect.
Whilst on the line, I asked what my premium would be if I reduced my valuation, get this, If I reduced the valuation, the premium would increase!!! I was told it was the same situation if I upped the excess!!!! Needless to say I left well alone.

Got this system fitted last week, the over axle section, rear box delete and quad tips.
Sounds fantastic, real presence, noisy but but not too ridiculous, a very 'classic american' sound from the cross plane crank and XK8 normally aspirated engine. None of that snap crackle and pop they synthetically add to modern car systems, just a classic V8. Lovely.

Can I have (buy) your old back boxes if they are in reasonable condition? My XKR came with no boxes and I am fed up with the noise!

Hi all , just joined and the proud owner of a 2003 XKR convertible. it has had exhuast modifications and is louder than standard but has a drone at around 1500 rpm , but sounds better at higher revs. Unfortunately 1500 rpm is generally for cruising around town and its not very comfortable. any ideas ? I am going to sketch out the system to see what it comprises and see if I can identify which one is fitted and then think of options. It looks like a stainless steel system but not sure which was original and what has been changed.
Hi guys, does any of you have an idea if the adamesh exhaust is EU certified in terms of noise? I live in Switzerland where noise limits can be strict, not sure how that works in UK but I’m guessing same EU regulations would apply.
Rules in the UK are not as strict as those in Switzerland. I think 74db is the UK limit for MOT pass.
I would like to do this bit really worried about drone noise. I used to fit janspeed in the old days as they were perfect, didn't hear a thing until about 4k rpm, silent the rest of the time. What are these like round the doors and cruising about 60-70 mph? Thanks
Cruising at 60-70 the rpm is so low there is not too much noise. I've got the over axle section with silencer and rear resonators removed so it just has the central combiner box. When you floor it, it is quite loud, but it is a trade off for a very lovely burble at idle and cruise.
I recently removed the rear boxes and the mid boxes. Tested with a cheap Db meter, with a burst to about 3K RPM sitting in the garage, and came up with 81 db max for stock, 84 Db with just the mid boxes removed, and 89 Db with all 4 removed, leaving just the large center box. These numbers may not be exact, but the relative change might give you an indication.
No drone at cruising speed. Only a slightly louder interior "sound". You can hear it more upon acceleration. It is not terribly loud- I have other toys that are much louder than this.
