Does anyone definitely know if the Mr12V system will work with early XKs (2007) yet? I see conflicting info.

Thanks to all for the input. Are the instructions available from somewhere so I can make a reasonable assessment of the likelihood of success? I don't want to make the mistake I made with a system I bought from Old Jaguar which I have had to abandon once I saw the instructions and a picture of a heap of bits.

What is this 30 or 40 pin connector which is mentioned above and where can I find it?

If you can't install the Old Jaguar model, M12V isn't much easier. I've installed both. You can of course outsource the install. The 30 to 40 pin converter is part of the M12V kit for your model year. The 5.0 liter models have a video card that uses a 40 pin ribbon cable. The 4.2 models have older touchscreens with 30 pin circuit boards. So it comes with the kit. Cheers mate.

Thanks ****ie. This morning I spoke to a guy at that phone number who I think must have been Liam Biggs. He told me they were working on an XKR 2007 at present using a prototype system and hoped to have some firm answers in a few weeks. He suggested I call back then. In any case, if it works then it will be February or March, I think he said, before production versions will be available. I'm happy to wait.

Thanks for the tip on the videos although maybe they won't apply precisely to what is coming for the 2007 XK. I'll take a look.

yes the oldjaguar.com instruction manual is 43 pages but are only about 15 pages are install. (no I didn't count). Some instructions are posted 3 ways ie, wiring diagram, written instructions, photo. some are operating instructions. The two big differences are price, Old Jaguar is way overpriced. Second is sound. I'm nearly deaf. The M12V connects to MOST and the sound is markedly improved. I find CD's in our car provide the best sound by far. M12V would be second over mp3 in my opinion. It has a decent equalizer and I was able to set it up so help counter balance my hearing loss. @Sailor Mike I hope you find an installer.

Yes the standard reversing camera is unaffected, as are all the OEM screen pages.
The Mr12V simply removes the USB from the MOST bus 'chain' and substitutes its module and a dedicated video card.
So all OEM features, including audio, are retained unaltered and the 'home' button toggles the Carplay/AAuto screen on and off. Simples.
