Hi! I'm new here. I am a former owner of a '76 XJ12 Conversion and a '78 XJ6L Conversion. I am loving my 2000 XK8 Convertible! Can someone point me to the location of the fuse box? Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

One under the bonnet and one either side of the dashboard (open the doors and you’ll see a lift of panel) also one in the boot.

Yes - 5 fuse boxes altogether.
One big one in the trunk / boot.
One on each side of the fascia - accessible with the doors open.
One towards the front of the engine bay - next to the ABS pump and module.
One on either the left or right hand side of the engine compartment (depending on LHD or RHD) - next to the engine and transmission computers.

The big one in the boot / trunk has a schematic for all the fuses in all the fuse boxes printed on the lid.

I think it unlikely that the two are related. The cigar lighter is fused through fuse #14 (20A) in the passenger side fuse box.

Have you checked the bulb and/or connections to the rear bulb - both sides go through the same circuit and fuse, so if one side works ................................................ ??

The fuse your looking for is in the fuse box in the gap of the open passengers door. Will see if I can find a link or photo for you. I do not think the cigar lighter, Jags have cigar lighters not cigarette lighters, has anything to do with the tail light. As suggested before it could well be a bulb. Before replacing the fuse however take a look inside your lighter. Mine blew and kept blowing any replacement fuses. Turned out to be a penny had dropped in there!

Here you go. I am pretty sure I used the Cigar lighter fuse to power my dash cam. http://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=75123&p=858012&viewfull=1#post858012

A penny fell in the cigar lighter. I will check the tail light bulb. I spent yesterday afternoon doing a tuneup. The driver side cylinders are marked 8 5 6 7, rear to front. Would the passenger side be 4 1 2 3?
