I've just noticed that the (amber) Engine Malfunction light stays on until I start her up and then it goes out. According to the book, an indicator lamp check is initiated when the starter switch is turned on, which lasts for three seconds - except the airbag warning indicator which remains on for six seconds - but this amber engine light seems to be staying on even longer. Should I be concerned? I haven't seen any warning messages in the Message Centre. (New X-Type owner).

The system runs a number of checks at start up which manifest in the MFL light but should extinguish once these are complete if no issues are detected.
