Hi,

i have a 2019 F Pace 25t (2.0 petrol AWD) on 33k miles and suddenly the ohter day its decided to not run.
I took it out to go to the gym and whilst i was in there i heard the alarm going off, thinking nothing of it i just locked the car again and carried on with my session.
on returning to the car to go home, the battery was dead!
I had AA come out, plugged it in and there was a code that read “P0341-00” or Camshaft position sensor 2 circuit malfunction.
Cleared the codes and up it started again.

I carried on driving the car around fine until one morning it decided to do the same! Having a scanner at home I plugged it on to clear the codes once more and to my surprise, nothing!

it only cranks, no start. I’ve replaced the cam position sensor, cleared the DTCs but still no joy!

any ideas fellas?

Welcome to Forum.

Thoughts: reluctor ring, timing chain/tensioner?
I saw the first one on a Jag XE Forum but not sure how to spell it.

When it was running did it take longer to crank/start or did you hear any rattling noises on cold start?
For your sake (and wallet) I hope it's not the chain/tensioner.

How often do you get the oil changed and do you do lots of short (<3 mile) trips?
I can't quite remember but I thought that sometime in 2019 JLR moved to more robust chains and tensioners (??).

Welcome to the Forum.
Not many Petrol Engine's have suffered from the Timing Chain's, and as Keith has mentioned do you have a Service History of the F Pace.
It is always asked what type off journeys has been done, and if it's short one's go and Buy a Petrol so with you having a Petrol i would have thought that would be one question stroked off the List.
The Timing Chain's seem to have been changed after the end off November 2019 so the build date of an engine would need to be verified to make sure it has the Modified Chain.
