Injector relay location?

Happy new year all.
I will be putting my XK back on the road in the next few months, it has not been started since summer of last year.
Due to its lengthy lay off I need to remove the fuel injector relay so I can turn the motor over and get some oil to the top end without it starting up.
Any other method suggested which would be better?
Regards,

Arty

Hi Arty and a happy new year to you too.
Relay R4 in the auxiliary junction box supplies fuse F33 30A in the same box which in turn, supplies the fuel pump driver module. Removing the fuse or the relay should accomplish what you want.
You can then also disconnect the fuel rail to ensure there is no fuel getting to the engine.

Is this even necessary? I'd be very surprised if there was any less oil at the top of the engine after several months than after a few days sat idle. The engine start sequence is programmed to ensure that the oil pressure is up to spec all around the engine before it starts.

Edit to add - if you do want to do this then another method would be to locate and remove the fuel pump fuse first.

How does the fuel get to the injectors without pressure from the pump?

I'll let Jim respond if he wishes but I don't read that second post as being contradictory to the first. I agree on the point about pressure, the direct injection engines run very high fuel pressure, if the pump doesn't run then there just won't be any fuel getting into the cylinders.
