TheMindBuddah - many thanks for all your hard work. I've spent weeks trying to get two laptops to work directly with v165 just so i could programme a new key. Your VM of V130 was perfect and programmed a new key for a RRS in a few seconds...couldn't have been easier and has saved me tons of stress! Will put some notes into the next dog box i see (i actually have cats but no idea why - can't get rid of them).

Hi. I have a laptop running 131 in XP Pro 32. I was wondering if I could get it to default to the date of 1-8-12 on boot-up so I didn't need to keep altering the date. The laptop is dedicated and isn't used for anything else.
Is this something I can do in the settings? Thanks.

Make a batch file. Place it to start up folder so it will be run at every startup. In the batch file write date and desired date after it. Like date 01.08.2012.

Or you can use deep freeze. This will boot your computer to the same date everytime.

Open notepad, paste:


date 01-08-2012

save as DATE.bat

Copy to

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
or
C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

To run at startup.

Sometimes it resets, therefore also store on desktop to double click it when it sets.

evening soi have a mongoose clone with sdd/ids v130, i got used to using it on my xfs i now have a 2016 xes and the v130 doesnt work with the car, was a bit strange as i gave it a go and when connected to the cars obd i was getting loads of fault messages on the cars dash... even though it wouldnt get passed the vin check screen.

anyway ive downloaded the virtualbox os for windows and v160.4 , thank you for making this available, just a few questions to those in the know...
do i need to run the virtual machine in windows 8 compatibility mode? as i cant seem to import the sdd v160.4 application atm
when importing it gets 100% but says Result code: E INVALIDA RG (ox80070057)
the virtualbox also says something about only using ovf files where as the downloaded file is an ova


hopefully this version will work with my car?
and last one (for now lol) will i need to reflash the mongoose i already have?

All I can say is here is what happened to me and my SDD.

After reading several threads it appears that Jaguar has shut down multiple servers and my old Win7 Pro could no longer communicate with the Jaguar servers. So I could not update SDD. I update it all the time so I am not worried about that but SDD keeps track if you have done an update and after some time starts to put up nags to do so. If you don't again after some time your SDD starts losing "functionality" or the ability to do things.

Again after reading it now takes Win10 (I am currently using SDD V165.xxx thanks to the people on this thread!) as Jaguar still allows this OS. BUT SDD requires IE and Win10 only supports Edge. This is another problem to solve and after some fiddling with Edge I could force it into IE mode but it does complain. Currently I am running Win10 Pro and I can connect to the servers to get updates.

I am still using the Drew Tech. Mongoose Pro drivers. I have both the 32 and 64 bit versions.

I do see the SDD download from JLR is now V166.xxx. Anybody using that version?

I'm not so worried about updates etc, I'd rather use it offline, i only really need sdd for fault code etc, I don't want to program etc

I'm just wondering if there's a certain version of virtual box i need to dl to recognise the sdd v160.4 ova file

Or if I need to run the virtual box in windows 7 or something?
