I don't use one and haven't for around 10 years, I use Bluetooth and the car's screen. The phone is either in the centre console or my pocket. Who needs to actually get at the phone while driving. Unless you insist on using the phone's screen as a sat nav in which case I would be using a windscreen mount.

I have both a CD slot mounted (Mountek) and a (Halfords ÂŁ8) screen sucker mounting for the XK. Both used for the Sat Nav usage.

My dash cam is set up by using the app on my phone.

Why do people assume you intend using your phone whilst driving??

It would be nice to get an answer to the question without people jumping to conclusions!!

Going back to the OP, our X350's have a curved dash and very narrow vents where not all phone holders would be suitable.

And having had my wood veneer french polished to remove scratches I'm loathed to use glue or sticky types.

On this basis, I too would be interested in what people are using!

Yes it would be nice, why did you do so? I use a phone for music, via a USB cable with the current car but Bluetooth in previous ones. There is no need to access the phone.

The phone holder I had previously would have been no use for a dash cam or sat nav as it was at knee level.

I consider the best place for a Sat Nav is in the bottom right corner of the windscreen as it doesn't block the view, is easy to get a power lead to without it trailing all over the place and it doesn't require taking one's eyes off the road. Hence the suggestion of a windscreen mount.
