XJR air intake upgrade, advice required please.

Evening all, this is the first post I've put up regarding my latest purchase....
I finally picked up one of my dream cars at the start of September, I'm now the more than proud owner of a 2006 XJR, to say I'm impressed would be a massive understatement!
I've been doing a fair bit of reading both before & after purchasing her regarding a few performance upgrades, so far I have had a pair of 200 cell cats fitted along with a performance exhaust system, fitted a K&N panel filter, she already had the 10% underdriven pulley fitted & had a paramount/Viezu map fitted.
I've seen on various sites & forums owners mentioning upgraded air intake tubes, however the only one I have found for sale is the version from Mina Gallery.
I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice regarding this item, has anyone on here got on fitted & is it a worthwhile upgrade?
Also, is there any alternative suppliers for this part? I've read of a version by Caldoofy I think, but haven't been able to find any contact information for them.
Any information or advice would be great.
Thanks for reading.
Tony.

is it a worthwhile upgrade ? now there's a question.....

if you mean "will it give me a power increase", well then, the manufacturer of the upgrade should be able to provide you that proof. Accept nothing else than a controlled test with before-and-after dyno plots on the same car. If you think I'm sounding doubtful, well there's a good reason for that - my gut feel says it'll be worh at the most, zip in the way of power improvement. This is a qualified position, having tested maybe a hundred of this sort of thing over the years.

if you mean "its my baby and I like spending my money on upgrades", then the answer is a resounding "yes", it will be worthwhile. You'll have done something, it'll be more "yours" and it'll sound a whole lot more "rorty"

Tony, I don't have an XJR, but if you are a member of the Jaguar Enthusiast Club, reading a long thread by Mike Kennedy (X350 Forum Coordinator) on tuning his XJR reveals he was less than happy with the fit of the Mina Gallery intake and has trouble corresponding with them about it. He's done all sorts of gas flowing and other fettling to his car to get maximum power which makes interesting reading if you want to tune yours up:

2woody, someone on jaguarforums.com had a before and after dyno and reported a 10hp increase, but the extra supercharger whine is worth it alone for me.

BrianG, interesting, no issues with the Caldoofy pipe, except slightly fiddly to slide the silicone tubing on.
