Its a tight time for someone to drop 44k or near on a private sale. Its a big chunk, insurance is stoopid, running them is onerous and nothing is cheap, only 3rd party lottery warranties available, economy is shakey, interest rates are in flux.
I love an optimistic Yorkshireman. 😆

I do wonder, how much do folk need to have on deposit to be comfy with buying large stuff willy nilly.

Price has dropped considerably from £49.9k to £41.4k... Drifting into the 'interesting' category now at that price....
Its still too much, and look at picture 11. Other cars, merc,BMW really suit the black leather, but the light you have and i had is just"right" in a Jag.
Interestingly (to me) the insurance quotes started at £4k for the 575.

A couple of weeks ago I tapped in a "normal " XJR and quotes started from £1.1k.

3 grand for 25 extra horses.
I paid £1040 for FAF with zero bonus.

Or getting more realistic.
Agree. I think £38k is not unreasonable for a 575 in good condition with lowish miles. I'm not convinced about the "1 owner" description since I believe nearly all (if not all) 575s started life as Jaguar management/Fleet cars, and one of the original photos in the advert showed an old pic of the car for sale (on its original reg plate) at a Jaguar garage... pic now removed. I suspect they meant to say 1 'previous' owner....

£38k is still a lot of dosh to fork out on a private sale with no come backs.

I think anything above £10k people want dealer benefits.
I agree and can see people being nervous of a private sale. But sadly, buying from a Jaguar dealership is often not without issues.
The last similar 575 from a Jaguar dealership was taken off sale (a couple of weeks after listing) when price was £44k, so I'm guessing it went for around that. For £6k less, this 575 might be worth a punt, BUT I would make a Jaguar inspection 'pass' a condition of sale. I think Jag charge around £400 for the inspection (too much, I know), and if it passes you can then buy a Jaguar warranty (I think for around £1500 / year). That would give reasonable piece of mind in case of lurking issues. So a similar 'outcome' to a dealer sale for around £40k at current asking price (rather than £44k). If the seller has nothing to hide, they shouldn't object to the inspection (I'm guessing the buyer would need to pay for the inspection, but I'd rather risk £400 to avoid buying a lemon. Duff XJs get expensive quickly!)

Hi guys I bought the mentioned 575 from autotrader - agreed a great deal and the car is in really excellent condition.
Having previously having an XJ autobiography 3 litre for work, I loved been driven around with the desks and screens in the back. After 3 years of no XJ I’m really excited to have one again and love the drive of the 575 - it feels extra special.
I say goodbye to my second ftype V8s convertible which has been fun but looking forward to having more space and do feel you get more for your money with the 575
