Hi all,

I searched the forum but there were old posts pointing to Ebay, and the official link no longer exists.

My current Navigation disc has northern Europe, but there is no entry that I can see for Portugal in the menu to select a country !! It would be good to have a basic, even out of date link , but I was surprised the disc didnt have portugal (size limits in the old days I guess).

Can anyone point me at a reliable link for a disc including Portugal for the XKR 2012 ?
I saw on Ebay something advertised for a Denso system, but I am not sure if that is what I have ?

Ideally in the EU, but the main thing is compatibility of course !

thanks in advance,
Nick

Hi Nick, you should have the same as mine and I’ve just been and checked. Select the nav, select “destination”, select “search area”, scroll to the abbreviation for Portugal and select that, the green map on the screen should then highlight the Portugal area.

Thanks Jim,

That is what you would expect, but i did very carefully scroll all through the listings a couple of times, and i don't think they have portugal on the list, its more northern europe focused. i saw it on our range rover which is newer and its a PRT abbreviation, but nothing on mine, unless i have completely lost the plot !

An updated map would be useful if they are around, but i guess tech is the problem with older cars !

thanks again,
Nick

Technically you're (The forum) not promoting it as such, I'm posting a link to an external website anyone can also google for themselves, including the relevant authorities so it's surprising it has been operating for years considering. But I'm playing devils advocate, I've been on your side of the forum fence so its no big deal. I could have just said have a google for jaguar xk sat mav discs which while not as direct would send someone to the same place eventually and the individual can decide if they are happy using said supplier. Personally for me running an older model that Jaguar no longer provide support for, I wouldnt think twice. ;)

What we do as individuals is down to us and we take the risks associated with such purchases.

I guess from the point of view of forums, they often gain some revenue from sponsors who are selling legitimate products at prices that reflect the investment that went into developing and testing them. If the same forum then points people to illegitimate products without pointing it out, it isn't ethical. I'm not sure if it is illegal to leave such links up and who is responsible for the consequences.

If one was to simply say that there are non-licensed products out there, buy at your own risk, I guess it could be OK. But when it bricks someones system, they know they took the risk.
