Start with an XP Pro, service pack 3 installation which can be on its own laptop or
in as an install on a virtual machine also on a latop. It can work installed on a virtual
machine.

You do not need to run an updates to XP, in fact it's probably best that you don't.

What ever internet access this machine or vitual machine had, disable it now. If the
machine ever gets on the internet, the JLR software will stop working. (So you don't need
pesky security updates, you won't be accessing anything other than the Jag with it)

There are 10 rar files,

JLR IDS-SDD.part01.rar
JLR IDS-SDD.part02.rar
JLR IDS-SDD.part03.rar
JLR IDS-SDD.part04.rar
JLR IDS-SDD.part05.rar
JLR IDS-SDD.part06.rar
JLR IDS-SDD.part07.rar
JLR IDS-SDD.part08.rar
JLR IDS-SDD.part09.rar

Download them all and place them all in one directory, they are a spanned archive
not standalone ones. Then use an unrar tool to unrar JLR IDS-SDD.part01.rar.
The files are linked so provided you are using the right tool, it will then unrar
the set to a directory called:

JLR IDS-SDD
In this directory you will find 6 files that can be installed.

They start with numbers 1,2,3,4,5 &6.

It's as easy as following that order, but:

File 1. This takes something like an hour and a half, in the middle of which
it installs .net 3.0 which will show no progress but completes its bit in 10
to 20 minutes. It hasn't crashed, be patient. Once complete you will be asked if
you want to restart. You don't need to. It will ask if you want to set ActiveCGM
as the default tiff file viewer. I recommend saying yes.

File 2. This is an update that takes 20 minutes or so to install, and will also
ask for a reboot which you don't need to do.

File 3. This claims to want to install some bits in the backround while you can
carry on. In fact this will run for around 3 hours. I suggest you set it running
and leave it till it's done. You will see no progress from this install and it
will not even take focus but take between 60 and 90% of CPU.

File 4. I started this after a restart as I shut the machine down afte file 3.
This file took around 20 minutes.

File 5. This is the driver for the Mangoose/mongoose. Run this, it takes 5 minutes
then reboot and plug it in, it will then find the drivers and install itself.

File 6. This takes 15 or so minutes. Reboot and your good to go.

Note: When you run the software it will ask for internet access. Don't give in!

Nice one! I've installed windows xp pro sp3 on a separate partition on a fairly new laptop as the battery on my old one dies after 5 mins - knew there was a reason it got tucked away! Took only 20 mins to install the os but spent the rest of the night getting it to dual boot as xp overwritten the win 7 mbr!!! But that's sorted now anyways...

Good thing is xp does not recognize any of my network adaptors so there is no way I can get online with xp even with a lan cable so that's good. Windows update turned off ect not that it matters with no internet access.

I am going to download all the files in win 7 tonight then copy them over to the xp partition. I don't have the mongoose yet so could I start the ball rolling and start installing rar files up to no.4 before it asks me to connect mongoose? Or can I install them all without connecting it until I get it?

Cheers

i am around thursday if you still need your keys doing, unless you want to wait for your lead

Hi Dave. Been mega busy these last few weeks and hardly had anytime to myself, work and two little terrors isn't easy haha!

Yes I still need my keys doing, but wouldn't mind you giving me a show around the sdd software too as you have experience of using it!

I will hope to have some time mid to end of next week, if that is any good for you?

Thanks

Ryan

I have downloaded the files from both options but unfortunately both the Mediafire and transferbigfiles data contain a CRC error on the the file 1st.IDS_DVD130_FULL.exe.
Files can be extracted but both the install from mediafire files and the virtual machine data form transferbigfiles fail due to the error.
Is there any chance you can repackage the files as a rar, test the archive and build in a recovery record. I have a Mongoose and V138 JLRSDD but it won't load the IDS software and I'm told V130 will do this.

#14 ·
What does the ids software do? I thought it was all the same thing? (sdd/ids/wds/)

#16 ·
Firstly IDS is the software jags used to 2004 then they added SDD on top of that converting it to a more intelligent package.
I am loading onto XP Pro but my problem is the download. I have downloaded both sets of files twice and both times I get a CRC check in the 1st file. It will not run
that file or mount the virtual machine version. I am downloading to Win 7 but that shouldn't make a difference.

Martyn812, I have successfully downloaded your 8 .rar, unpacked and installed without problem, on XP service pack 3 and off-line from internet in order to avoid updates. SDD starts apparently ok and Mongoose clone seems to be recognized. Starting SDD it asks userid and password because " is non connected to TOPIx ". I entered as you suggested Username: JLR9A8172 and Password: L538X760
but the answer is always that " user or password are incorrect or license is expired or it was installed on more than one machine " and there is no way to proceed. I tried then to set PC clock to march 2012 withiut success. I tried also a different user and password that I found in some thread without change. Can you suggest what is wrong, apparently I installed as you suggested. Thanks for your help. Sergio essepi

I wonder if the reason is because on the same XP I previously installed V139 found in the DVD received with clone Mongoose, ( it started but was no able to recognize the VIN, always said it was incorrect), then I installed your V130 but unfortunately I left it update from internet. So I suppose that those installations has left some track somewhere (may be in XP register) so this V130 installation is considered a duplicated installation. I want to try in a new virgin XP and see what happen. I let you know, anyway thanks for your help. Essepi

It makes me crazy. Installed V130 in a clean XP Pro, clock set at 1 august 2012, but the result is the same, user and password are not recognized.
I have a doubt: somewhere I read that a norwegian guy had the same problem, with a XP in norvegian language, then he installed an english version and was successfull. May be this is the reason, I have an italian version.
Second : looking to this XP I see that it's SP2, not SP3. I read always that SP3 is required.
I will restart from the beginning. Having backuped the entire system with Ghost I will reinstall a clean XP, then I will update with SP3 and try again. Unfortunately I cannot test with english XP because I don't Have it.
I keep this thread informed.

Hi everyone,

I'm considering buying a clone on which v130 will run. Could anyone advise as to which unit would be capable of reprogramming two new keys? (with transponders) I lost my only key, so I don't know if it's even possible. I'm an IT/electronics engineer, so I should be okay with using the s/w. My only other avenue is to tow it to Jaguar and lean forward!

Thanks,
Dave

Sorry to intervene but I think you will find this helpful, it is taken from the JLR Manual.

JLR Mangoose SDD V142

Newest JLR Mangoose SDD V142 is verified working well with Chinese JLR Mangoose cable.

Yesterday, I tried to uninstall sdd v139 and download SDD V142, firstly I browse http://diagnosticdelivery.jlrext.com/idscentral
Download only these files:
SDD 142.00_FULL.exe
VDF_JA_142.exe
VDF_JV_142.exe
VDF_LA_142.exe
VDF_LV_142.exe
SDD_142.01.exe
SDD_142.02.exe
SPA_142.exe
With these files I can't install yet, I need additional "Driver for MangoosePro_JLR" and a freeze software to have license key. Being SDD old user, my supplier send me the driver and freeze software for free of charge, not pay the shipping fee to ship the CD. For the first users, I would highly recommend:
http://www.uobd2.net/wholesale/jlr-mongoose-for-jaguar-and-land-rover.html
SDD V142 with cable for $43

You need spend some time to install V142, I have several tips to share with first user.
Tip 1: Run with Xp system or XP Mode in Windows 7, or vmware XP in windows 7.
Tip 2: Disable both local area connection and wireless connection network, otherwise antivirus software will say virus possibility on the license key software.
Tip 3: All the software installation has to be finished within one day.
Tip 4: Firstly install software then driver then freeze software, finally to test diagnostic function.
Tip 5: Because the software will expire within one day, the freeze software has to be installed within one day to frozen the software and can be used all the time.
Tip 6: If you didn't install the freeze software within one day, you will get prompt saying the software has expired, the solution is to reset the computer date and time to that day when you installed the software.
