Hi Guys

I have searched the threads, and there's lots of information on sensors, but i'm not sure it specifically addresses my problem.

My rear view camera works. My parking sensors (front & Back) are not working. A message comes up saying the Sensors are disabled and to contact Jaguar.

On my old X type, disconnecting the battery fixed all sorts of problems, will this work on the XF?

Anyone got any other ideas how to reactivate the parking aids?

Thanks

Hi Santer, thanks for the reply.

I am aware of the button to turn on the sensors at the front and the auto camera and sensor at the, BUT, the car gives an error msg saying they have been disabled. Its not the switch.

Do you think disconnecting the battery would help?

thanks

You could try a hard reset which would reset all modules. Disconnect the battery and touch the leads together for a few minutes then reconnect.
If that fails then diagnostics would be required, such as JLR/SDD or similar.

I do not have an XF but I thought that when you turn the ignition and select reverse the sensors were automatically switched on. The switch is used to turn them off but when the ignition is recycled they return to ready.
There could be a fault which would be apparent when you turn the ignition on, a 3 second beep and the light on the roof consul will illuminate. The system is then shut down.
I was not aware that you had to switch them on initially.

If you drive in forward to a parking space, they will not be active. You can turn them on to enable you to get close to the low bollards that now seem very popular in supermarket carparks.

Hi Phil

so i don't need a radio code? I can disconnect the battery and then reconnect and i wont need to enter any codes to have the radio working?

Is that correct mate?

thanks

Just had this reply from Jaguar SevenOaks - (Good guys and thanks to them)

Good Afternoon Mr Holmes,

Sorry for the delay in reply,
Your vehicle will not require a radio code to be entered after the battery has been disconnected,
The XF Model range have a unique fitment and does not use a code.
I hope this is of assistance to you.
Kind Regards

Hi RDHOLMES, I had this same problem with my xfs and it was a break in one of the wires that go to the sensors, mine was just next to the multi plug you have to unplug when you take the front bumper off to get to the sensors. When you press the over head switch to apply the sensors if this flashes 3or4 times instead of staying on then you have a problem somewhere, good luck Ray.
