S type 2.7d sport potential replacement for x type

Hi all

I am considering the purchase of a 2.7d sport with around 70k on clock probably 2004-2006 model to replace my x type 2.0d with 140k.

The x type has been fairly reliable and i am wandering if there are any specific things i should be looking for before purchase or when on a test drive.

Any pointers as to potential weak points would be appreciated

Depending on your useage, try to avoid late '05> (DPF:

) I'm glad mine hasn't got one.
Our useage is mostly local running and that is no good for a car fitted with a DPF.

Thanks for info i have heard about the DPF but to be honest dont know much about them if i decide to change car will have a few short start stop town journeys but once a month about a 300 mile round m/way trip at 70mph!!!!!!! of course
