I had a Jaguar Independent Specialist who had a look at the problem and quoted me for a new dpf but was costing way over 2k.

I've went to a Jaguar Dealership and they had replaced the Nox Sensor yesterday and cleaned the Injector. Cost me around ÂŁ899 incl VAT.
They guaranteed warning light won't come on again. 🤞 🤷
Mmm - bit more serious than I was hoping you'd say however, a lot better than the indies 2k plus - Many thanks, glad you got it sorted

Good Morning all,

A couple of days ago I got the "Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid
Quality" warning, never hears of such a warning. It is always displayed now and cannot be simply reset. I have seen some posts on XE forum saying a software update can fix it however my car shows no update available. Or a faulty sensor.

The only Ad Blue that has ever been added is by the dealer and with such a low mileage that I do, it never reports a low fluid level warning.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Have found another post on this, looks like a vist to the dealer, which is not open during the COVID issue, but any comments still welcome

I have recently had the DEF error message stating Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid Quality and i have done my research and also had the issue rectified by a Jaguar Specialist (who does not work for Jaguar Landrover), he advised that the wording is inaccurate, as the system cant detect the quality of the fluid, what is happening in most cases is that the DEF injector and orifice into the exhaust stream becomes partially blocked with crystalized fluid, this affects the spray pattern of the EDF into the exhaust gases, so it is not a fluid quality issue but a dosing issue. Had the injector and manifold cleaned of crystalized fluid, error code reset and bingo, p[problem rectified, and at a massively less cost that the main dealer quoted....

Might be an old thread, but have had significant issues with DEF errors so thought I'd share.

Initial problem was "incorrect quality DEF" error message, did some research and had an independent garage flush the injector and reset the error code. Problem went away for circa 2000 miles, but resurfaced recently. I took the car to a Jag specialist that suggested draining tank of old Adblue and cleaning injector. At a cost of ÂŁ400, the problem seemed to have been solved.

500miles later, i've had the warning again. This time specialist is suggesting replacing NOx sensor, at a total cost of ÂŁ900 (part from JLR is ÂŁ650). I'm not holding my breath and plan on selling the car.

I'm led to believe that the system can be disabled by re-mapping the ECU, but doubt the legality of doing so and wouldn't want to take the risk.

Other expensive issues (gear selector issue at ÂŁ2.5k repair) have tainted my view of JLR and doubt I'll ever buy another.
