owns 2003 jaguar Super V8 Top of the line
We have had several enquiries on it at ÂŁ49,495 but not taken a deposit as yet.

Sales manager decided to drop the price today to see if it generated some more interest.

Hope it sells soon. The more it sells for, the more ours might be worth! :)

Just have to see what happens, target audience is quite small for something like this.

I was tempted myself but Sue says I would have to get rid of the XFR and XE V6 'S' if I buy it :(

Like the 575, but not that much !

This might be a tad better value.

It's a "fake" 575. Still not bad for an XJR, but some potential concern buying off a seller who is possibly knowingly trying to pass it off as a 575?

The engine cover is standard (not carbon fibre, but easily changed). The other indicators (harder to change) are the seats - which don't have the 575 logo on the headrests (and on backpads for the rears) nor the right colour (575s didn't have 2-tone seats, it was either ebony quilted or ivory quilted). Also the treadplates should say "575" and the intaglio on the front cabin hoop should be a red "575". All these can be swapped fairly easily, but you'd need a donor 575 (or the original parts which are pricey). (Finally, the door and dash trims are usually carbon fibre, but could be spec'ed as gloss black as an option). The VIN would also eventually give it away.....

Thanks Chris, you obviously know your stuff. Most people wouldnt know that. If the dealer is knowingly misrepresenting this car then thats criminal behaviour.
On another note would you actually want one? Well you obviously do, as you've got one, but would I? Doesnt something like a 3.0d in Portfolio or Autobiography trim make better sense in the real world? I would guess, though I havnt driven either, that the 3.0d would make a quieter, more comfortable cruiser. I cant use the 400bhp my car makes most of the time never mind 575bhp. How do your cars compare?

Oddly it is on Gray's own website as a regular 550PS "R".

I haven't driven an 'ooligan, but I can confirm that the 5.0 SC petrol engine (merely 510 PS, 503 HP) in my unicorn is quieter than the engines in either of my previous tractors (EURO5 Portfolio, EURO6 Autobiography): but I don't visit the areas of the tacho above 3,000 revs. On comparison - the 2017 Autobiography was better than the 2011 Portfolio, because of the bigger TVs, newer ICE and comfier seats; the oil dilution was a constant irritant though. The Unicorn is better than both. By miles. And when I get my hands on the unicorn with ivory seats, I will retire from car buying.

I am not sure where misrepresentation starts and errors finish. I don't think that the dealer would have applied the badges, but the eBay listing misrepresents the seats as "575 badged", when they aren't (although the eBay listing doesn't picture them!). But anyone that is looking for a 575 should be able to quickly confirm that it isn't one.
