My STR has a 'surging' problem which was diagnosed by Chris at Doncaster jaguar Specialists as being the torque converter failing - well actually the lock up not working correctly. I had all the fluids and filter replaced and it was a little better but seems to be getting worse again. I'm not sure how long I will be keeping the car so I am wondering about putting in a second hand converter which I can get for ÂŁ50 as opposed to ÂŁ500 for a new or re manufactured one. trouble is I know it's not the easiest job in the world but Jaguar only quote 4 hours to replace the torque converter so it can't be THAT big a job...
