Good Morning all,

A couple of days ago I got the "Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid
Quality" warning, never hears of such a warning. It is always displayed now and cannot be simply reset. I have seen some posts on XE forum saying a software update can fix it however my car shows no update available. Or a faulty sensor.

The only Ad Blue that has ever been added is by the dealer and with such a low mileage that I do, it never reports a low fluid level warning.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

**update

Have found another post on this, looks like a vist to the dealer, which is not open during the COVID issue, but any comments still welcome

Had this problem appear on my XE and after some research I decided to go for a adblue injector clean which seemed to work, but now 500 miles later the fault has come back again.

Strange thing is that I noticed that the build-up in the injector is black, which is weird as adblue usually forms light-coloured. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be?

NOX sensor faulty!!! This is not adblue error..

I'm having the same issue and can't figure out how to sort it. Have had it topped up, drained, refilled and reset and the warning goes away only to come back on.

The dealer has advised replacing the adaptor or chip to sort the problem, but this is an expensive solution to a very silly problem. Anyone had any other solutions which worked?

Does anyone know where the ODB reader in the car is so I can read the code and see what causes it to come on?

I have a 2016 Jaguar XF 2.0D Portfolio.
It's above the Brake Pedal, behind the panel below the steering wheel.

Sounds like mine, it literally gets reset and I'm sent on my way for 6000 more miles. If I can get a local garage to reset maybe it wouldn't cost me as much as the dealer charges. Should any garage be able to reset it?
Yes

Hi,
I have had the same issue with my XF. Drove home from work and it just came on. I have my MOT this Friday, does anyone know if the dash warning will affect the MOT as i know they will fail it for some warning lights on the dash

Sounds a like it may have been overfilled at some point or sometimes an issue with the sensor iirc, others will chime in

With a light on the dash, I'd say its a likely fail

Luckily, no impact on MOT, and they should try and reset it in case it's a one off issue. My experience says it isn't. To resolve, I had to replace the chip which was ÂŁ600 all in (I have the receipt somewhere so I can dig it out if needed). Jagtech in Stockton sorted it out but appreciate it might not be local to everyone - feel free to ring them up though, nice bunch of lads and they were very helpful. They've seen a few before so knew what they were doing. I was told it could be one of the NOx (O2) sensors malfunctioning (as that was the error code coming up on mine) by someone else I went to, so had that changed for ÂŁ200 by someone and it didn't sort things out. Worth a try but didn't work for mine. This isn't likely to be the only issue though.

But be careful - a lot of cowboys out there who claimed all sorts. Jag themselves didn't say anything about a sensor, and just charged ÂŁ300 to reset it! Resetting cost me ÂŁ80-90 each time, so it all adds up.

As i had reported in April this year, I had it sorted and I never had the fault repeat (fingers crossed). You are having a hard time of it.
How did you manage to get it sorted and was it through a Jaguar Dealership themselves?
I've the same problem and first i was told it was a clogged injector and then a week later the warning light came on again

How did you get on tsaoo? Did they clear out your injector again or was it something else (my car just came up with same prob, it last did it 18 months ago and cleanup worked - might not be so lucky this time)

I had a Jaguar Independent Specialist who had a look at the problem and quoted me for a new dpf but was costing way over 2k.

I've went to a Jaguar Dealership and they had replaced the Nox Sensor yesterday and cleaned the Injector. Cost me around ÂŁ899 incl VAT.
They guaranteed warning light won't come on again. 🤞 🤷
