XJ X351 Spotting.

Mac_Doc came up with this idea first, after his recent 800 mile drive. The X351 is not a common car, so you don't see many about. I recently did a 250 mile round trip via the M25 and M3, and only saw one on the way out and one on the way back. It might be worth posting when you see one, as it might be someone on this forum.

(PS. Downing Street/Westminster doesn't count!)

There may not be many X351s around, but this is a true story. Back in 2015, soon after buying my brand new XJL, I followed my wife to Bluewater shopping centre, had a coffee with her, and then left her there to spend money. I went back to the car park, tried to open the door on my new Loire Blue XJ, but it wouldn't open. So I got the fob out of my pocket and tried the button to unlock it - nothing. Damn! The battery must be discharged. So I flicked open the key to manually unlock it, but I had no idea where the keyhole was or how to access it. I went all round the car, checking the door handles, but I just couldn't figure it out. So I had no option but to call Jaguar Assist - but the card with the phone number was locked inside the car, in the glove box. So I thought I'd call the main dealer (Guy Salmon) to see if they could help me - but their details were also locked inside. By now I had spent 5 minutes trying to get into the car. Then I had a brainwave - perhaps the main dealer's phone number is on the tax disc holder! So I had a look at the tax disc holder, and was surprised to see it was a Caffyn's tax disc holder. My immediate thought was - what a cheap-skate dealership Guy Salmon is, using another dealer's tax disc holder! My second thought was - wait a minute, my car doesn't have a tax disc!

So I sheepishly walked away to my own identical Loire Blue XJL parked eight spaces away...

Easily done. Back in the day I gave my wife the mini keys so that she could sit in the car and read a book while I was playing football. After the match I (eventually) found her sat in someone else's similar mini not far from ours, moaning that she must have forgotten to bring her book, as it wasn't in the car.

Minis were a bit more common than Loire Blue XJLs, though! (... and mini keys were close to universal)

Driving home from work yesterday in Bristol (in trusty Mondeo) I saw an XJ in front of me.
The arse end looked a little odd, slightly lower perhaps than I was expecting. Something seemed different whatever it was.

When I got nearer I realised it had an extra door! Twas a 6 door funeral limo.

My warped mind pondered that if it was a very high end job then it might have a huge number of TV's in the back if the middle row had Autobiography seats in lol  :D:ROFLMAO:

Funny how the mind works!!! 🥴

I saw a red XJ with LED front lights at lunchtime today. Heading into Brum on the A38 from J4 of the M5. I was in my wifes 330, so no chance of a wave. I also didn't get a good look as the closing speed was 140mph on a curve with a barrier between us. I was happy to note mine was still on the drive when I got home too - very similar to look at!!

I meant to say, saw one in my local Tesco the other day, just a glimpse

Looked to be a red R Sport as far as I could see, had a nice reg too something like T1 FSN although having checked that's not correct, unless, it's been stolen and had plates swapped.

I may be mistaken but don't think any Terms Of Reference were set, and as we have discussed Argentinian dictators cars should be OK to post without a UK reg....

On a trip to the Iron Bridge museums recently I couldn't resist parking next to and grabbing a quick photo of another racing green XJ. I can't say my family was amused.

Spotted in July, another XJR parked up at the Morgan Visitor Centre. (I was waiting for my daughter who had a summer job there).
When the driver returned to this he walked past chatting and casually opened all windows remotely. What!!?? A new function I was unaware of WTH!

I hope Steve hasn't actually parked like that.

Two more this morning, both black (may have been the same one, I guess): first in Fareham when I was on the way out, and the second in Titchfield on the way home. Sadly no pictures, though: phone was in my back pocket.

Anyone own this SWB, spotted today at Arqiva HQ.

Overtook 2 more in quick succession on the M40 on my way home.

I realised after all the hard work on the first one (which I had published previously) that it rather undermined the point of this thread, so I left the second one alone. I just couldn't be bothered to go back and find the unbowdlerised version of the first one.
